Another Tendulkar record in Kohli's sights, Ashwin eyes Kumble's haul: Milestones IND seniors could topple in BAN series
Kohli next in line to surpass Tendulkar's half-century milestone
Virat Kohli is just one 50-plus score away from breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record of most international fifties. Tendulkar has 164 fifties to his name across Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. Kohli, who has 163 fifties, needs just one more to go past the legendary batsman.
Kohli has been in fine form in recent months, scoring three fifties in his last four innings. He will be looking to continue his good run in the upcoming Bangladesh series and break Tendulkar's record.
Ashwin closes in on Kumble's wickets tally
Ravichandran Ashwin is on the verge of becoming India's second-highest wicket-taker in Tests. The off-spinner has 442 wickets to his name, just 25 behind Anil Kumble's tally of 467.
Ashwin has been in impressive form in recent years, taking 100 wickets in his last 18 Tests. He will be looking to continue his good run in the Bangladesh series and surpass Kumble's record.
Other milestones within reach
Apart from Kohli and Ashwin, there are other Indian players who are close to reaching significant milestones in the Bangladesh series.
Cheteshwar Pujara needs just 19 runs to reach 7,000 Test runs. Rohit Sharma needs 20 runs to reach 1,000 runs in T20Is. Jasprit Bumrah needs four wickets to reach 100 wickets in ODIs.
The Bangladesh series will give these players an opportunity to add to their impressive records and further cement their place in Indian cricket history.
