Chiefs Rout Raiders, Secure AFC's Top Seed
Dominant Performance Seals No. 1 Playoff Position
Receivers Shine, Mahomes Impressive
The Kansas City Chiefs put on a commanding performance against the Las Vegas Raiders, securing the AFC's top playoff seed with a decisive 31-13 victory. The Chiefs' offense was in top form, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes and a much-improved receiving corps.
The Raiders defense, which had been impressive in recent weeks, had no answer for the Chiefs' aerial attack. The Kansas City receivers, who had struggled with drops in previous games, made just one miscue against Las Vegas, allowing Mahomes to spread the ball around effectively.
Mahomes, who finished the game with 336 passing yards and two touchdowns, connected with eight different receivers throughout the afternoon. The Chiefs' rushing attack also contributed to the victory, with running back Jerick McKinnon scoring two touchdowns on the ground.
The Raiders offense, led by quarterback Derek Carr, struggled to keep pace with Kansas City. Carr threw for just 177 yards and was sacked six times. The Raiders also gave up a fumble and an interception, which the Chiefs capitalized on to extend their lead.
