Celtics Break Game Open in Dominant Third Quarter
The Boston Celtics turned in a dominant performance in the third quarter of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals, outscoring the Miami Heat 31-14. The Celtics held the Heat to just 28.6% shooting in the quarter and drilled 71.3% of their own three-pointers. Kristaps Porzingis and Jaylen Brown each had 10 points in the third quarter to lead the Celtics.
Heat Rally Falls Short in Fourth Quarter
The Heat rallied in the fourth quarter and trimmed the Celtics' lead to 10 points, but the Celtics held off the late push to win the game 114-94. Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Brown added 20 points, while Porzingis finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
For the Heat, Jimmy Butler scored 23 points after a quiet night in Game 5. Gabe Vincent added 19 points, while Bam Adebayo had 18 points and 11 rebounds.
The Celtics will now host the Heat in Game 7 on Sunday night. The winner of Game 7 will advance to the NBA Finals to face the Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors.
